Coordinate Structural Details with the Reviewed Design

Local Document Context

Los Angeles identifies structural, mechanical and zoning components within its plan-check process. LADBS structural guidance addresses foundation details and the relationship of soils information to the structural design.

What This Means for Your Estimate

For a Los Angeles bid, provide the issued structural sheets and relevant reports together with the architectural set. A revised foundation or lateral-system detail can change concrete, reinforcement, framing and connection quantities even when the floor area stays the same. We recommend identifying the affected detail references and treating unissued specialist information as a visible qualification. Confirm the actual jurisdiction; City of Los Angeles references do not govern every address in the county.

Remote Estimating Process

Documents, Pricing and Agreed Deliverables

All estimating and quantity takeoff services are provided 100% remotely throughout the United States. We do not perform site visits.

Location-Specific Cost Inputs

When cost estimating is requested, we use RSMeans Data as one of our primary sources for location-specific material and labor pricing. Inputs are selected for the project’s city/state and adjusted as appropriate for specifications, trade requirements, quantities, construction type and information supplied by the client.

A quantity-only takeoff does not include cost pricing unless it is part of the agreed scope.
